Description:  The new WOSB/EDWOSB set-aside contracting program began in February 2011. The SBA will discuss the WOSB rule and eligibility requirements for participation in this program; how the program will work and the certification process.

The 8(a) Business Development Program is SBA’s effort to promote equal access for socially and economically disadvantaged individuals to participate in the business sector of the nation’s economy. Those who can demonstrate that they are socially and economically disadvantaged may also be eligible.

The HUB Zone Empowerment Contracting Program seeks to encourage economic development in historically underutilized business zones – “HUB Zones” through the establishment of preferences for award of Federal contracts to small businesses in such areas.

Funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, The New Jersey Small Business Development Centers (NJSBDC) network is also funded by the state of New Jersey and is hosted by Rutgers Business School: Newark and New Brunswick
